This study aims to analyze reflective groups for men who commit gender-based violence, which have been implemented and are currently in operation across the country. The goal is to provide relevant knowledge and information to public safety institutions that are part of the network for combating violence, in a reflective and constructive way. The study envisions spreading the idea that these groups constitute an effective public policy for combating violence against women, and consequently, it seeks to encourage the creation of new reflective groups for men in Brazil. The objective was to provide an overview of the existing reflective groups for men in the country and their contributions to confronting domestic violence against women. To this end, a bibliographic review was conducted on concepts and legislation related to the topic and the importance of public policies to combat violence against women. Data was also collected from participants in the "Program Dialogar" of the Civil Police of Minas Gerais to demonstrate how this specific group functions and its effectiveness as an alternative for preventing and reducing domestic violence. To achieve the proposed goal, a theoretical study with a qualitative and exploratory approach was conducted, supported by a bibliographic review technique. Through this study, it was possible to verify that, despite different methodologies and diverse objectives, these groups have an educational, reflective, and preventive character and have been playing a fundamental role in reducing gender-based violence.
