This paper analyzes the impacts of the virtualization of police Inquiries in the Minas Gerais Civil Police, examining the transformations in the daily routine of the registry office with the implementation of the Electronic Judicial Police Procedure (PPJ-e). The central objective is to assess how the transition from the physical to the digital model affects procedural efficiency, legal certainty, and resource management, considering the principles of Brazil’s public administration. The methodology is based on bibliographic and documentary research, integrating experience reports and operational data to contextualize the challenges and opportunities of this modernization. The results indicate that virtualization brings significant gains, such as faster processing, reduced paper and logistics costs, and greater integration between institutions through digital systems. However, it also reveals critical challenges, including the dependence on stable technological infrastructure, the need for ongoing staff training, and the risks inherent to cybersecurity. The conclusion is that the virtualization of police Inquiries represents an inevitable and irreversible step toward modernization. However, what will be necessary for its consolidation to translate into speed and efficiency in problem-solving? What will be the impact on the daily lives of civil police personal during and after the transition? Will there be benefits for users of the Civil Police's services?
